SAN FRANCISCO, April 7, 2026: Uncountable, the AI platform for end-to-end product development, today announced a strategic partnership with the headquarters of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany. Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany has selected Uncountable to drive the digital transformation of its central analytical laboratories. These laboratories aim to standardize and advance lab digitalization to enhance services for its three business sectors Life Science, Healthcare, and Electronics. Leveraging large language models (LLMs), machine learning (ML), and dynamic reporting, the collaboration is designed to elevate lab operations and efficiency.
From fragmented workflows to a connected lab environment
Historically, data resided in silos, requiring manual transfers between systems. Over time, each lab developed its own workflows and tools, making cross-lab collaboration harder than necessary. Producing complex scientific reports demanded significant manual effort across more than 200 analytical methods.
With Uncountable, Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany plans to build a centralized, structured data environment that connects instrument data, Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), and reporting within a single platform. The solution will improve access to high-quality data to enable ML and LLM-powered use cases, boost efficiency to support each business sector’s analytical requests, and build a corpus of analytical knowledge that can be used across the enterprise.
“Uncountable distinguished itself with its exceptional data model and unified lab IT platform. Its flexibility and user adaptability, paired with automated reporting of complex scientific data, were decisive factors in our choice. This aligns perfectly with our commitment to making business easy and successful — our promise to the company’s business sectors as internal customers,” said Christian Hildebrandt, Head of Site Management Lab Services at Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany.
“We are honored to work with Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany in building a solution that supports the lab of the future. Our solution will enable dynamic reporting, improve collaboration across labs, and support a fully digital workflow from internal request through final analytical report,” said Richard Garcia, Vice President of Sales at Uncountable.
Uncountable was selected following a competitive evaluation, based on the completeness of its solution relative to previously assessed options.
