Cabot Corporation Partners with Uncountable for Lab Informatics Solution

5
min read

Cabot Corporation, a leading global specialty chemical and performance materials company headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, was searching for a way to get out of siloed spreadsheets, multiple request systems, and individual reporting tools that were currently supporting all of their technology teams. Given the diversity of products and applications in Cabot’s portfolio, it had historically been using different systems for each business, with no connectivity between them. After conducting competitive pilots with two lab informatics vendors in 2020, it became clear that the infrastructure and design of the Uncountable platform would enable Cabot’s vision for creating a unified and standardized system.

Patricia Hubbard, CTO of Cabot and one of the industry’s most accomplished leaders, oversaw the pilot process and the implementation of the system. “We were looking for a solution that got all of our information in one place and did it in a way that created a good, clean data structure that we could use to build our own databases seamlessly.  Uncountable has been a great partner to us in the implementation process and we are excited to see how we can use their platform to transform how we use our R&D data to drive growth.”

With Uncountable now deployed across more than five R&D sites, Cabot’s global team of scientists, engineers, lab managers and technicians are able to collaborate in real-time, leveraging one another’s analyses and discoveries made directly within Uncountable’s web-based platform. Both organizations are excited to build on their multi-year partnership, as Uncountable is further integrated into the fabric of the Cabot R&D teams.
