San Francisco, CA – In a strategic move to streamline laboratory synthesis and data management, Trinseo, a leader in material science innovation, has announced a long-term partnership with Uncountable. This collaboration marks a significant advancement in Trinseo's push for superior data integration and enhanced R&D efficiency, with a particular focus on its Synthesis Lab operations.

Marco Schindler, Trinseo’s Senior Research Specialist R&D and Synthesis Lab Leader in Rheinmuenster, Germany, shares his enthusiasm: "We are thrilled to partner with Uncountable. Uncountable’s platform showcased a system that could meet our needs and propel us towards a future of interconnected data and advanced analysis capabilities."

Caroline Hartmann, Director of Trinseo’s R&D Center of Excellence, added, "Our mission at Trinseo has always been to foster a working environment that encourages our employees to produce exceptional results for our customers. Partnering with Uncountable aligns perfectly with our objectives to harmonize our synthesis and application data globally and eliminate the siloed data in Excel, which has been a barrier to our progress."

Before adopting Uncountable's enterprise platform, Trinseo utilized an internally developed Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), which, despite its initial success, began to lag in scalability and adaptability. "The challenges of missing data visibility and the lack of consistent documentation meant we couldn't leverage our historical data effectively," Hartmann stated. "Uncountable's system promises to resolve these pain points by providing a robust solution for data availability and traceability."

Key Objectives of Trinseo’s Partnership with Uncountable Include:

  • Data Availability & Traceability: Ensuring critical data is readily accessible and traceable throughout the organization.
  • Connecting Synthesis with Formulation & Application Testing: Establishing seamless integration for a comprehensive data overview.
  • Global Data Management: Streamlining the exchange of technical data across Trinseo's worldwide R&D network.

As the implementation moves forward, Hartmann expresses anticipation for the next phases, "I'm particularly excited to see our team's enthusiasm once the system is fully operational. We're not just looking to improve our current processes; we aim to leverage the power of Design of Experiments (DoE), advanced analytics and AI to elevate our research efficiency.

In a shared vision for innovation, Trinseo andUncountable are committed to a "one system for all" approach, ensuring that the new platform will serve as the backbone for ongoing and future R&D endeavors. "With the full implementation ofUncountable's platform, we foresee a transformative impact on our data management and a significant leap towards our long-term goals."
