As part of SCHOTT’s “Lab 4.0” program, the company is modernizing and fully digitalizing its R&D operations across the entire development lifecycle. Uncountable will serve as the foundation for managing experimental data, workflows, analytics, and future AI-driven insights across SCHOTT Corporate R&D.

Addressing Fragmented R&D Systems and Manual Processes
Prior to working with Uncountable, SCHOTT’s R&D teams operated within a heterogeneous digital landscape. While advanced data analysis, material informatics, and in-house machine learning models were already in use, experimental data, workflows, and contextual information were distributed across multiple systems, instruments, and tools. This fragmentation made it challenging to seamlessly connect experimental results with downstream analytics, reuse historical data at scale, and establish fully integrated, end-to-end digital workflows. As a result, valuable scientific insights were not always leveraged to their full potential, and scaling data-driven R&D across teams required significant manual coordination.
Uncountable’s platform addresses these challenges by unifying ELN, LIMS, analytics, visualization, and AI/ML capabilities on top of a structured experiment database—enabling seamless data capture, improved searchability, and cross-team coordination in a single system.
