the uncountable platform

One data layer, from the first experiment to the shipped product

Uncountable connects R&D, quality, product lifecycle, and project management on a single structured data model. Every formulation, result, and instrument reading lives on one record, so a change in the lab filters all the way through quality and production. Structure first, AI second.

One data model, from lab to launch

Most teams run R&D on one tool, quality control on another, product lifecycle on a third, and project management on a fourth; and the four never share a record. Uncountable is a single platform with one structured data model underneath. The lab notebook, LIMS, quality management, PLM, and project management are capabilities on that model. That is why a formulation created in R&D carries its full context into quality and production without re-entry, and why a change to one ingredient can be traced everywhere it is used. The connections are built into one data model, not bolted on after the fact.

R&D, Quality, PLM and Project Management, connected

Trusted by R&D and innovation leaders to capture every experiment, connect it to formulation and quality, and stop losing institutional knowledge when a project goes on the shelf.

  • Capture and search every experiment:  The ELN works like a searchable notebook, not a filing cabinet: graphing, reporting, and stats built in, so nothing gets lost between projects.
  • Design fewer, better experiments:  DOE & Predictive Tools plan multi-variable tests statistically, aiming for the most learning from the fewest runs, not one variable at a time.
  • Carry context forward automatically:  A formulation built in R&D carries its full history into quality and production, no re-entry, no lost context when it changes hands.
  • Trusted by quality and QC leaders to catch out-of-spec results early, close the loop from event to root cause, and stay audit-ready without the scramble.

  • Track failures, not just the final result — QC Lab keeps a full history of every retest, so a result never silently overwrites the one before it.
  • Close the loop between events and evidence — Every CAPA, deviation, and change control links back to the formulation revision, batch, and raw-material lots that explain it.
  • Stay ready for the next audit — Automatic audit trails and e-signatures aligned to 21 CFR Part 11 and EU Annex 11, with document and SOP control built in.
  • Trusted by product and PLM leaders to keep the product record connected from first formulation through commercialization.

  • One bill of materials, always current: BOMs stay structured, versioned, and connected to the formulation and raw-material records behind them, not a static file that drifts.
  • See where every ingredient is used:  Where-used shows every product a raw material touches, so a supply change or ingredient flag propagates instead of surprising you later.
  • Know your margin as you develop:  Unit costs roll up from the recipe to a cost per kilogram against target, so pricing decisions happen alongside formulation, not after it.
  • Trusted by R&D and innovation leaders to see the whole project, decide on evidence, and catch stalled projects and resource conflicts before they cost a quarter.

  • See the whole portfolio in one view:  Every project, stage, milestone, and resource in a single live dashboard, not a deck that is stale on arrival.
  • Decide on evidence, not opinion:  Each project links to its experiments, formulations, and QC results, so gate reviews are grounded in what actually happened in the lab.
  • Catch stalled projects and resource conflicts early:  Time-in-stage and resource load surface the projects that need attention before they cost a quarter.
  • Proof from the companies running it

When R&D, quality, product lifecycle, and project management share one data model, the payoff shows up as experiments never repeated and time given back to scientists.

    See the platform in action

Clariant partnered with Uncountable to replace a legacy ELN and build a structured scientific backbone connecting their synthesis and application teams. The results: 1,000+ users across 35+ global sites.

Connected to the systems you already run

Uncountable sits at the center as the system of record for R&D and quality data, with a comprehensive API and integration layer connecting the systems around it.

    Shared by every suite

Bodie and the Portal work across R&D, Quality, Product Lifecycle and Project Management at once, on the same structured data model, not one suite at a time.

What one connected platform is worth

One structured data model shows up as hard numbers across cost, revenue, and risk; not just faster workflows.

    Security, compliance and integrations

Uncountable meets the security and compliance bar enterprise R&D requires, backed by independent third-party audits. Your data stays isolated per customer, encrypted in transit and at rest, and covered by a complete audit trail, with a 99.9% uptime SLA and a 10-minute RTO/RPO.

    FAQs

What Is the Difference Between the Platform and the Suites?

The platform is the shared data layer. The suites, Research & Development, Quality, Product Lifecycle, and Project Portfolio Management, are views into that platform organized by the job to be done. You buy the platform and turn on the suites and capabilities you need.

Do I Have to Buy Everything at Once?

No. Teams commonly start with one suite, such as R&D or QC, and expand into QMS, PLM, and Project Management over time. Because everything shares one data model, expanding does not mean a new integration project.

How Does Data Move Between R&D, QC, PLM and Project Management?

It does not move between systems, because there is one system. A formulation created in R&D carries its full context into quality and into PLM on the same record, and a change to one ingredient is traceable everywhere it is used.

    What Does It Integrate With?

Uncountable connects to lab instruments, bidirectional ERP, and data warehouses through a comprehensive REST API, webhooks, and bulk ingestion, with single sign-on. It acts as the central system of record for R&D and quality data.
