LIMS for R&D: From Lab Request to Signed Result

Send experiments to the lab in one request and get back tested, spec-checked results ready to lock and sign.

The problem: lab requests tracked by email and spreadsheet

R&D teams send samples to the lab and wait. Without one record linking the request, the samples and the results, status is unclear and results get retyped.

Scientists email the lab, the lab tracks requests in a spreadsheet, and results come back in a file to be retyped. Status questions take up time on both sides.

‍

What this demo shows

  1. Send new experiments to the lab in one request.
  2. The lab tracks each request.
  3. A technician creates and scans test samples.
  4. The instrument file fills in the results, and a passing experiment is locked and signed.

‍

Why it matters

Stop chasing the context behind every test result. One request linking experiments, samples and results gives both teams the same view.

Instrument files fill in results directly, and passing experiments are locked and signed, so the data is complete and protected from the moment it's approved.

This is Uncountable, the LIMS for R&D. Follow one set of new experiments from request to result. Uncountable stores every experiment as structured data. Its ingredients, their amounts, and its measured results. When new experiments are ready to test, the scientist sends them to the lab in one lab request. The lab sees every request in one place with its status, its lead, and how many of its tasks are done.

A technician creates test samples from each experiment. Each sample is its own record linked to the experiment it came from. Every sample gets its own barcode, so a quick scan at the bench finds the right record. Upload the instrument's export file, and its values fill in the sample's measurements. Uncountable keeps the full viscosity curve next to its summary value, so the detail behind each number is never lost.

Viscosity is checked against the spec. Passing values show green, and one failing value shows red before anyone signs off. In Explorer, see the new experiments next to the project's earlier ones against the spec's goal lines. Only one sits outside. Lock and sign a passing experiment, and its record is protected from edits. From request to result in one platform.

FAQs

How do R&D teams send experiments to the lab in Uncountable?

In one lab request. The lab sees every request in one place with its status, lead and task progress.

How do instrument results get onto samples?

Upload the instrument's export file and its values fill in the sample's measurements. The full curve is kept next to the summary value.

How are results protected once approved?

Lock and sign a passing experiment, and its record is protected from edits.
