Novatech International Improves Data Management & Project Efficiency

Uncountable’s R&D data management system helped Novatech improve efficiency and deliver faster, safer, and simpler adhesive and sealant products

“Uncountable allows me to access all the projects and all the data easily at any time of the day… everyone on my team can find and access the data they need… [Uncountable] makes life so easy and so much more efficient.”

Gunther Dreezen
Innovation Director, Novatech

About the customer

Novatech is an innovation-oriented company headquartered in Belgium that specializes in adhesives, sealants, and surface treatment materials for the construction, industrial, and transportation industries. Gunther Dreezen, Innovation Director, oversees a team of 12 researchers focused on product development.

The challenge: before Uncountable

Before Uncountable, Novatech collected and stored data on a project basis using folders with Excel sheets. Different people recording data had different styles and preferences, causing confusion and inconsistency. Despite the vast amount of data generated, traditional systems proved cumbersome and weren’t tailored for R&D.

“With Excel sheets, the data is there, but no one is able to use it.” — Gunther Dreezen

The solution

After evaluating five different vendors, Dreezen found that most LIMS systems were “very complicated to manage and maintain.” Uncountable stood out for its user-friendliness, smooth data management, and potential for data analysis and forecasting. Importing historical data was easy, and the team was able to maintain 80% of their prior data in less than two months.

Results

  • Smooth, centralized data management replacing scattered Excel sheets
  • Real-time cost calculations within minutes
  • Easy data accessibility for all team members at any time
  • Structured data foundation for future AI and predictive modeling initiatives

What’s next

With a structured data management system in place, Novatech is positioned to leverage predictive tools and more efficient design of experiments (DOE) with existing datasets. As Dreezen notes, “By building this data set in Uncountable, in the future this will become an asset and give us added value.”
